What Human trafficking looks like in Belgium:

There are more slaves in the world today than at any other time in history. Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal activity in the world and Belgium is a major destination country.

April has been working on anti-trafficking issues in Europe for 8 years and will share what she has discovered and, more importantly, how you can help combat this terrible form of exploitation.

Human trafficking is a complex and multi-faceted issue, but there are some simple ways to make a positive impact.

She will also talk about how the recent refugee situation relates to human trafficking.

April Foster, originally from Alaska, is the co-founder and director of Breaking Chains Network, an organisation working with trafficked and exploited women in Europe through prevention programs in source countries and education and training for start-up organisations working with trafficked women. They also have a drop-in resource center for women in Antwerp where they teach language classes and job skills training and offer community support.
